Become a certified PSV Bus Driver with Coventry Minibuses

Are you ready to embark on a rewarding career as a bus/coach driver?

Whether you're starting fresh or looking to refresh your skills, we're here to help. Our bespoke driver training allows you to gain your PCV/PSV license along with all the other qualifications you’ll need to be able to be able to start driving.

Upon completing your PCV license or refresher course, you'll be offered a full-time job as a bus/coach/minibus driver with Coventry Minibuses so you can start immediate work. 

The intensive driver training lasts 2 weeks and you’ll receive support in every aspect of training including:

1. PSV Theory Test: This includes two parts:

  • Multiple-choice questions: Tests your knowledge of road rules, vehicle handling, and passenger safety.

  • Hazard perception test: Assesses your ability to identify potential hazards on the road.

2. PCV Practical Test: This involves driving a PCV vehicle under examination conditions, demonstrating your ability to:

  • Drive safely and responsibly

  • Handle different road conditions

  • Use vehicle controls effectively

  • Follow traffic laws and regulations

3. Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence): This is a mandatory qualification for all professional drivers. It involves:

  • Module 2: Case studies that assess your knowledge of vehicle safety and operations.

  • Module 3: Practical driving test to demonstrate your driving skills (on-road and off-road).

  • Module 4: Practical demonstration test to assess your ability to handle specific situations, such as emergencies or passenger management.

You’ll also cover everything from route familiarisation and vehicle maintenance to ticket machine operation, company policies, PATs training (Passenger Assistant Training), Safeguarding Training and First Aid qualifications.
